Obituary for Daniel Ivar Johnson

Daniel Ivar Johnson, age 69, of Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin, died on March 17, 2020, at his home. He was born on May 17, 1950 in Prentice, Wisconsin to Ivar and Lillian (Gustafson) Johnson.

Dan’s family moved to Rhinelander when he was a child. He attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1968. After his schooling he entered the US Army and served in Germany in communications for two years. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and was employed in construction for a number of years. In 1991 he joined his future wife Susan in operating Mraz Vending. Dan was a part of the business until his retirement in 2013. He married Susan (Mraz) on December 17, 2002 and God blessed them with a little over 17 years of marriage.

In his spare time his favorite thing to do was anything that involved his grandchildren. Throughout the years he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports. Recently he found Pickle Ball to be an enjoyable activity. Dan had a great smile and was always willing to help family and friends with anything they needed.

Dan is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Shannon (Nickolas) Willett and Christie (Aaron) Wulk, his grandchildren Brittany, Madeline, Kai and Andreas, his step sons Jason and Adam Reynolds, his sisters Patricia (Michael) Harvey, Mary (Lester “Butch”) Gregory and Kathy (Steven) Zastrow, his brother Glenn (Priscilla) Johnson, many Nieces, Nephews and friends.
