Obituary for William "Bill" Fourt

William “Bill” Fourt, age 86 of Gleason, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Earl and Grace (Chapel) Fourt.

Bill graduated from St. Paul High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during the Korean War. He married Marian Reinke on June 20, 1959, and together they would raise their family in Rhinelander. Bill was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1989. Among his interests, Bill enjoyed ham radio, fishing, viewing the birds and deer that would visit his yard, wildlife photography, and he especially loved watching all types of sports.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marian Fourt of Gleason; three daughters, Tanja (Rick) Ziegel of Rhinelander, Jodi (James) Fourt Jankowski of Lake of the Hills, IL, and Angela(Paul Knitt) Jankowski of Marion, WI; two sons, Bryan (Marcia) Fourt of Gleason and Pete (Kimberly Deede) Fourt of Rhinelander; thirteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kevin; two sisters, Alice and Carol; and a brother, Charles “Bud” Fourt.

Private family services will be held with inurnment in Forest Home Cemetery. Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) is assisting with arrangements.
