Obituary for Ronald Henry Dickison

Ronald H Dickison, age 84, of Rhinelander, died on April 29th, 2020 at the Seasons of Life Hospice, in Woodruff, Wisconsin, with his son Ronald “Buzz” Dickison at his side. He was born in Gagen, Wisconsin on June 15th, 1935 to Henry and Fannie (Fish) Dickison.

Ron attended schools in the Rhinelander/Starks area and then went to work as a farmer in the Starks potato farms. He farmed until his retirement and will always be remembered as a hard worker. On April 21st, 1958 Ron married the love of his life, Janet Alsteen and they were blessed with 59 years of marriage. Janet preceded Ron in death on November 4th, 2017. Together they raised their three children who were the loves of their lives.

In his spare time Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, family cookouts and any and all holidays with all of the family. Later in life he enjoyed shootin the breeze. As a lifelong resident of the area, Ron had many interesting stories to share. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his daughter Julie (Dennis) Braeger, his son Ronald “Buzz” (Barbara) Dickison, his grandchildren Jennifer (Greg) Bohn, Erin (Jason) Doggett, Kayla Dickison, Nicole (Alex) Dickison, Derek (Zoie) Mohr, his great grandkids Owen, Aubrey, Mya and Wyatt, his sisters Mary Baker, Loretta Ohlson and Wanda Ross, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Ronda Schrump and his sister Edith LaPlante.

A gathering will be held at a later date. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Dickison family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Dickison family.
