Obituary for Joan Elizabeth Goosman

Joan Goosman, age 85, of Rhinelander, died on December 28, 2018 in Rhinelander. She was born on December 9, 1933 in Bruce, Wisconsin to Carl and Beulah (Vreeland) Dauer. She attended schools in Bruce graduating from the Bruce High School in 1950.

Joan married Donald Goosman on February 22, 1953. They moved to northern Illinois where she lived until retiring to the Rhinelander area in 1996. In Illinois Joan was first employed as a hostess/waitress for Howard Johnsons and then for the Deer Path Inn. She then was employed as a bookkeeper for a number of different retail outlets, most notably Highwood Appliance and TV. While in Illinois she enjoyed playing Bingo and was an accomplished bowler. After her retirement she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, jigsaw puzzles and of course Bingo.

Joan is survived by her daughter Donna (William Bohn) Haskins, her son Rodney (Patricia) Goosman, her grandchildren Donald(Melanie), Gary, Sheena(William) and Kelly(Tyler), her great grandchildren Kaylee, Matthew, Emily and Cameron, her brothers Daniel(Sheryl)Dauer and Carl Dauer, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents and her brothers Raymond, Harry and Henry.

Graveside services for Joan will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 am, at the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Goosman family at The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Goosman family.
