Jerry L Colvin, age 78, of Rhinelander, died on July 7, 2012 at the St. Claire's Hospital in Weston, WI. He was born on September 10, 1933 in Beaver Dam, WI to Virgil and Evelyn(Molthen)Colvin. Jerry was employed for many years by A.O. Smith in Milwaukee, retiring in 1990. It was shortly thereafter that they moved to the Rhinelander area full time. Jerry and the former Dorothy Bergland were united in marriage on June 13, 1953 in Milwaukee and she preceded him in death on December 18th of last year. Earlier in life Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gathering firewood. Later in life he loved going to the casino. He is survived by his daughter Debra(Timothy)Sanders of Rhinelander, his two sons Larry Colvin and Michael Colvin both of McNaughton, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, his half sister Barbara(Donald)Dean, his four half brothers Robert(Jackie)Parker, William Parker, Richard(Linda)Parker and Bernard Parker, nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents a sister Ginger Gamez and a step sister Nancy. Visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon when a memorial service will be held, at 12:00 Noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for the Colvin family.
