Shirley Nichols, age 65 of Rhinelander, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. She was born on December 29, 1946, in Laona, Wisconsin. Shirley resided in Rhinelander since 1999 and had been employed at the Krist Citgo Station. Family was important to Shirley and despite her health challenges, she continued to enjoy the time spent with her daughter, Mary and family. Shirley is survived by her five children, Mary Koerner of Rhinelander, John (Tina) Lhote, Dawn (Matt) Hayward, Tammy Baker, and Jay Wozniak and grandchildren including Klynt, Israel, and Evony. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Shirley Wozniak and a sister, Angie. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Deacon Amanda Sampey officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
