Gretchen M. Guarniere, age 50, of Rhinelander, died on September 23, 2011 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI. She was born on September 17, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI to August and Judith(Miller)Buettner. She was raised in Milwaukee attending schools there and graduating from high school in 1979. Gretchen then worked in the Savings and Loan business in Milwaukee for a number of years. She moved to White Lake, WI where she was employed by a flooring mill and then eventually to Rhinelander where she has been the manager of the Dollar General. Gretchen was an active person who enjoyed all sports. She especially loved rafting on the Wolf River and watching NASCAR. Gretchen is survived by her daughter Brittany Buettner-Wright of Rhinelander, her brother Tom(Lori)Buettner of Pickerel, WI and a really good friend Laura. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service is being held for Gretchen on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N Yates Road, in Milwaukee, WI. A memorial has been established in Gretchen's name and contributions may be directed to the family in care of Laura Ebert, 8470 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin - 53223.
