Larry W. Lukarich, age 60 of Rhinelander, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 2, 1951, in Rhinelander to Robert "Al" and Lois (Rolain) Lukarich. Larry attended Rhinelander High School and served in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Rhinelander where he married the former Toni Gilman on August 27, 1977. Larry was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Company for many years until his retirement. Earlier in his life, Larry participated in baseball including fast-pitch softball, playing for the Pabst team and Snowshoe softball in Lake Tomahawk. Later, he enjoyed playing golf and had been a member at Northwoods Golf Course. He was an avid sports fan; enjoying the Brewers, Packers, and Pro Golf. His nieces and nephews were very special to Larry, bringing much joy to his life and he will be fondly remembered for the love and support he provided to their lives. Larry is survived by his wife, Toni Lukarich of Rhinelander; his mother, Lois Lukarich of Rhinelander; two sisters, Jacalyn Miller of Monico and Connie (Frank Johnson) Kuczmarski of Rhinelander; two brothers, David (Linda) Lukarich and Dan (Sue) Lukarich both of Rhinelander; his mother-in-law, Janet Mittelsteadt of Rhinelander; brothers-in-law, Charles (Gig) Gilman, Todd (Teress Toigo) Gilman, Eugene (Caren Bink) Gilman, and Gary Gilman all of Rhinelander; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Al" Lukarich and his father-in-law, James Mittelsteadt. Funeral services for Larry will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com). Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northland Memorial Park. |
