Ruthann Olson, age 81 of Rhinelander, died Sunday, October 31, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 13, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Vinton and Cecelia (Dion) Brown. Ruthann attended Bay View High School; graduating in 1947. She married Clifford A. Olson on July 16, 1948, in Florida. Together, Ruthann and Cliff raised their family in the Milwaukee area before retiring to Rhinelander in 1986. She was employed as a bus driver in both Milwaukee and in Rhinelander where she drove for Schilleman Bus Service. Ruthann was very accomplished at knitting and crocheting and shared many of her projects with family and friends and also sold her crafts through consignment. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord / St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed games of all types including cards, dice, and board games. Ruthann is survived by her husband, Clifford of Rhinelander; her daughters, Linda Servais of Oconomowoc, Dotti (Dennis) Flint of Marshall, WI, and Lori (Tim) Bugni of Greendale; her sons, Dennis (Judy) Olson of Dousman and Scott (Gayle) Olson of Appleton; two foster sons, Mark (Cindy) Burdette of Oconomowoc and Duane (Becky) Burdette of Oak Creek; fifteen grandchildren, Ryan, Ian, and Evan Olson, Rebecca Sjowall, Kristin and Carl Servais, Shawn and Dennis Flint, Margaret Bugni, and Nick, Natalyn, Joshua, Allison, Amber, and Mya Burdette; and seven great grandchildren, Madeline, Chelle, and Halle Servais, Franklin, Trinity, and Sydney Flint, and Dominic Pettigrue. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Beatrice; and three brothers, Ray, Benny, and Charles. A memorial mass for Ruthann will be celebrated at 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Nativity of Our Lord / St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father John Gerritts officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of mass on Thursday at the church. A memorial mass for Ruthann will also be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Greendale with visitation starting at 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
