Donald "Jim" Bonack, age 74 of the Town of Pelican, died Friday, October 1, 2010, at his home. He was born on July 21, 1936, in Monroe, Wisconsin and adopted by Paul and Elizabeth Bonack. Jim grew up in Starks and attended Shatluck Military Academy before graduating in 1955 from the Southern School of Agriculture in Minnesota. He worked on the family potato farm, at Lassig Dairy, and then was employed for 32 years with the Oneida County Highway Department until his retirement in 1999. Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Bonack of Rhinelander; three daughters, Diane (Gary) Beil of Marshfield, WI, Paulette (Philip) Recha of Rhinelander, and Lori (Larry) Zietlow of Athens, WI; grandsons, Michael, Matthew, and Markus Beil, Daniel Morris, and Steven and Adam Recha; and great grandsons, Michael Gary Beil, Jordan Michael Beil, and Zachary Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son. No services are planned. Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) is assisting with arrangements.
