James R. Schroeder, age 65 of Rhinelander, died Friday, January 15, 2010, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on March 11, 1944, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Walter and Beverly (Berg) Schroeder. Jim graduated from Green Bay West High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Cal Poly University. He was employed as a project engineer for Proctor and Gamble in Green Bay. Jim married Diane K. Lehman on April 2, 1994. Following Jim's retirement in 2000, they moved to Rhinelander. Jim was a member of Pine Grove Community Church. He was a creative genius who was always involved in a project. Jim enjoyed many pursuits including working on his antique car, remodeling at his home, and just tinkering in his workshop. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing. Jim will be remembered as a man who loved time spent with his family and as a person always willing to help others. Jim is survived by his mother, Beverly Schroeder of Green Bay; his wife, Diane Schroeder of Rhinelander; a daughter, Candice (Michael) Lange of Dacula, GA; three sons, Scott (Katja) Schroeder of Memphis, TN, Brent (Christie) Lehman of Warner Robins, GA, and Todd Lehman of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Beverly Jean (Carl) McFarland of Chicago, IL and Gloria (Dave) Marske of Appleton, WI; and grandchildren, Corey and Ashley Lange and Melissa and Lindsay Lehman. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Schroeder. A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Pine Grove Community Church with Rev. Darrell Boomer officiating. A time to visit with the family will take place following the service on Tuesday at the church. Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) is assisting Jim's family with arrangements. A memorial will be established in Jim's name for the benefit of Pine Grove Community Church and contributions may be directed in care of his family. |
