Barbara J. Jesse, age 78,of Rhinelander and Stuart, Florida, died on January 7, 2010 in Stuart. She was born on April 15, 1931 in Dodgeville, WI to Oscar and Carol(Draggs)Gilbertson. Barb attended schools in Dodgeville graduating from Dodgeville High School in 1949 and then attended UW Madison. She met William Jesse and they were married on September 1, 1951 in Dodgeville. They enjoyed more than 58 years of marriage. They moved to Rhinelander in 1957 and became owner and operators of Jesse Foods. Barb was active in the family business for more than 40 years. For over 30 years Barb and Bill wintered in Stuart and it eventually became their permanent address. Barbara was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish since moving to Rhinelander. She was also a longtime member of the Rhinelander Country Club. Barb is survived by her husband William Jesse, her four daughters Mary(Patti Berg)Jesse of Rhinelander, Ann(Ralph)Sterzinger of Muskego, WI, Kathy(Iver)Warren of Burlington, WI and Jane(Peter)Wick of Wales, WI, her son David(Cheryl)Jesse of Rhinelander, twelve grandchildren Paul(Christinia)Bastian, William(Anne)Wick, Amy(Mike)Groth, Becky(Brad)Sawallich, Jody(Jeff)Sterzinger, Lindsey(Charlie)Wilder, Kirk Warren, Dana(Greg)Hoeffler, Morgan Wick, Tyler Jesse, Erika Warren and Evan Warren, six great grandchildren Owen, Wrigley, Nolan, Eloise, Sophia and Camden, her sister Ruth(Don)Bremmer, sister in law Joan and brother in law Roger, numerous Nieces, Nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Barb will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:45 PM, at the Carlson Funeral Home and, from 10:00 AM until just prior to the funeral on Saturday at the Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father John Gerritts officiating. A memorial is being established in Barbara's name and can be directed to her family. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for the Jesse family.
