Ruth Mary Robinson, age 77 of Rhinelander, died on Monday, December 28, 2009, at Taylor Park Nursing Home under the care of Ministry Hospice. She was born on March 10, 1932, in Rhinelander to Floyd and Lydia (Heinitz) Seymour. Ruth graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1950. She married Frank "Fred" Robinson on May 3, 1952, and together they raised their family of four children. Through most of her life, Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, bowling, and trips to Las Vegas. After Fred's retirement in 1990, they wintered in Gulf Shores, AL with their good friends, the Shepards and the Briars. Ruth also loved cats including her most recent companion, "Baby". She was a lifelong member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by her four children, Dennis Robinson, Cheryl (Jon) Tiedemann, Debra Whitaker (Rich Dietz), and David (Brenda) Robinson all of Rhinelander; a brother, Delbert (Rosa) Seymour of Racine; her grandchildren, Thomas "T.J." Whitaker, Jennifer (Mark) Rudis, Jeffrey Barnhill, and Jamie, Jesse, and Jodi Robinson; step grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Jon "Ace", Joy, Staci, and Sara who was also a caregiver for Ruth; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred on June 5, 1999; two brothers, Floyd and Harold Seymour; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Robinson. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Rev. David Sternberg officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Newbold Cemetery. A memorial will be established in Ruth's name and contributions may be directed in care of her family.
