Ellen Gregory, age 58 of Rhinelander, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on June 5, 1951, in Rhinelander to Lester and Alveina (Myers) Gregory. Ellen was a former resident at Shalom Group Home before having her own apartment. She was involved in programs at Headwaters and Opportunities Unlimited and worked at the Rhinelander Goodwill Store. Ellen's favorite activity was shopping at Walmart. She also enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and participating in Special Olympics where she medaled in bowling competition. She will be fondly remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. Ellen is survived by two sisters, Katheryn (Butch) Alsteen and Rose (Harvey) Moore both of Rhinelander; two brothers, Jim Potter and Lester "Butch" (Mary) Gregory Jr. both of Rhinelander; many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Linda. She is further survived by her friends and neighbors at the Timber Lane Apartments. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services for Ellen will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com). Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
