Ross W. Breitzman, age 84, of Rhinelander, died on October 20, 2009, in Rhinelander, surrounded by his family. Ross was born on February 28, 1925 in Cecil, WI to Alfred and Minnie(Beilfuss)Breitzman. Ross graduated from the Gillette High School in 1943. He also graduated from the Dunwoody Technical Institute in Minneapolis. Ross served with the US Navy from 1945-1947. He married Betty Scherbarth on July 8th, 1950 and they eventually ended up in Rhinelander in 1969 where they have lived since. Ross was employed as a safety officer for the State of Wisconsin. Ross' real passion's in life were his study of bible history, his music, especially his accordian and the food pantry. He was a longtime active member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ross is survived by his wife Betty of Rhinelander, his daughter Jill(Buzzy)Mode of Rhinelander, his son Scott(Louise)Breitzman of Rhinelander, his four grandchildren Scott, Raymond, Megan and Brody, his nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents and two brothers Roger and Merlin. Memorial services will be held for Ross on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Norman Peterson officiating. Visitation will also be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until just prior to the services. Interment will be in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial is being established in Ross' name for the Rhinelander Food Pantry. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for the Breitzman family.
