Laura "Bunny" Wallin, age 94 of Rhinelander, died Friday, August 14, 2009, at Friendly Village Nursing Home. She was born August 13, 1915, in Elcho, WI to David and Josephine (Nitz) Kelly. Laura married Harry Wallin in 1933. In addition to raising her family, she was employed at the Bump Clinic in Rhinelander and then with the Wisconsin Employee Trust Fund in Madison. Following her retirement, she returned to Elcho where she lived until moving to Rhinelander in 2006. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints for fifty years. Laura is survived by two sons, Gerald (Mary) Wallin of Green Valley, AZ and Jack Wallin of Rhinelander; three daughters, Marilyn (Donald) Chagnon of Rhinelander, Nancy Ries of Rhinelander, and Joan Sullivan of Wautoma, WI; a brother, Gene Kelly of Rhinelander; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edward Wallin; a daughter, Patricia Wallin, a daughter-in-law, Geri Wallin; five brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services for Laura will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) in Rhinelander with Bishop John Lindner Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Elcho Cemetery. |
