Marion Blumreich, age 84, of Rhinelander, died on August 11, 2009 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born on October 11, 1924 in Rhinelander to Curtis and Anna(Bidwell)Lord. Marion attended schools in Rhinelander until her family moved to Rib Lake. She graduated from the Rib Lake High School in 1943 and then attended the UW Madison for a couple of years before eventually going to work for the US Government in Milwaukee. It was only a couple of years when Marion moved back to Rhinelander and went to work as a secretary at Daniel's Manufacturing. It was there that she met Dale Blumreich. They were married on February 22, 1947 in Rhinelander and she and Dale enjoyed 62 years of marriage. After raising the kid's, Marion went back to work, first at Oneida Abstract and Title and then for the Cirilli Law Office in probate. Marion was a longtime active member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the church council and she was involved in the ladies groups including the quilters. She also served on the hymn committee. Marion also volunteered at the Pine Lake school in the reading program and she was recently recognized by the Salvation Army for 35 years of continuous donations. Marion's personal passion was her gardening, especially her flowers. She is survived by her husband Dale of Rhinelander, her daughter Caroll(Ray)Mealy of Huntingtown, MD, her two sons Steve(Susan) of Springfield, MO and Gary(Nancy) of Rhinelander, her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Sinclair and Caroll Schauder. Memorial services for Marion will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Norman Peterson officiating. Visitation with the family will also be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until just prior to the services. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. If you are so inclined there will be a memorial in Marion's name for the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
