David Freund, age 74, of Rhinelander, died on August 4, 2009 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1935 in Rhinelander to Henry and Maude(Eddy)Freund. David attended schools in Rhinelander and was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander. He had been employed by the Forest Service, drove truck for an oil company for awhile and then worked for the City of Rhinelander in the street dept. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and he really enjoyed the pool in the backyard. David was also a licensed pilot and he took family and friends on many trips over the northwoods. David is survived by his wife Joan (Royse) of Rhinelander, his daughter Lori(Pete)Lewis of Woodruff, WI, his son Brian(Sherri)Freund of Merrill, WI, his brothers Roger(Mary Jo) Freund of Rhinelander and James(Ruth)Freund of Genoa, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private family services will be held. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for the Freund family.
