William "Bill" Bergeon, age 79 of Rhinelander, died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Taylor Park Nursing Home. He was born on March 11, 1930, in Rhinelander to William and Virginia (Gauthier) Bergeon. Bill was a longtime employee of the Soo Line and Wisconsin Central Railroads. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and he loved his annual trips with his family to the Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He also enjoyed monthly breakfasts with his fellow railroad retirees and time spent around the campfire at his home. Bill will be fondly remembered as a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. Bill is survived by his three sisters, Helen Scholtes, Donna Mae (Eugene) Alsteen, and Rosalie (James) Skinner all of Rhinelander; his brother, Nicholas (Pat) Biesik of Rhinelander; a sister-in-law, Pat I. Biesik of Rhinelander; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Nicholas Biesik; a sister, Virginia Kasmarek; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Biesik. Funeral services for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Father John Gerritts officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Nativity of Our Lord / St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
