Gloria J. Wallin, age 77 of Rhinelander, WI and Grapevine, TX, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at her home in Rhinelander. She was born on April 7, 1932, in Waukegan, IL to Roy and Ella Gabrielsen. Gloria graduated from high school in Waukegan and married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Wallin, on November 18, 1950, and together they raised their family Waukegan. In retirement, she shared time between her homes in Rhinelander and Grapevine, TX. Gloria was a longtime judge for the American Kennel Club and judged dog shows in the U.S. and Europe. One to always keep busy, Gloria was an avid quilter and reader and also enjoyed crosswords. Gloria is survived by her husband, Jerry of Rhinelander and Grapevine, TX; three children, Laurel Destry of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kimberly (Robert) Goodin of Rhinelander, WI, and Jeffery Wallin of Dysart, IA; four grandchildren, Kathie, Daniel, Michael, and Katy; a great grandson, Travis; and a cousin, Jerry Ericson of Palm Springs, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services for Gloria will be held at a later date.
