Cynthia "Cindy" Alsteen, age 49 of Rhinelander, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at her home. She was born on August 2, 1959, in Rhinelander to Roger and Elaine Sweet. Cindy graduated from Three Lakes High School. She married Todd Alsteen on October 18, 1990. Cindy enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and visiting with her friends including best friends, Kelly Swenson and Debbie Franklin. She also enjoyed writing and watching movies. Cindy is survived by her husband, Todd Alsteen of Rhinelander; her three sons, Dan (Dana Melby) Crass of Kimberly, Chris Crass of Bangor, WI, and Joe (Stephanie) Crass of Gleason; a granddaughter, Emma Joe Crass; a sister, Lisa Merkle of Eagle River; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jeff Sweet. A memorial service for Cindy will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
