Carol Lavender, 78, of Rhinelander, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2009. She was born on December 14, 1930, in Milwaukee to Arthur and Elsie Hammel. Carol was devoted to her Savior, husband, children, family, and friends. She loved life and had a special love of animals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Fruend; an infant sister, Artith; and a son, Bill Jr. Carol is survived by her husband, Bill Lavender. She is further survived by her children, Randy (Jan) Richter, Robin (Kris) Lavender, Shannon (Matt) Jacobson, Linda (Culver) TerBeest, and Julie (Mike) Kuehl; one sister, Melody (Mitchell) Lemke, all of Rhinelander; thirteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Carol's life, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Pine Grove Community Church on Forest Lane in Rhinelander. There will be a time of greeting from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church. Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) is assisting Carol's family with arrangements.
