Ralph R. Rudis, age 75, of Rhinelander, died on April 30, 2009 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. He was born on May 11, 1933 in Rhinelander to Michael and Sophie(Paddock)Rudis. Ralph attended schools in Rhinelander. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander where he was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Company. Ralph retired from the paper company in 1974 but he continued to work as a farmer and as a logger. Ralph married Barbara Kettner on January 9, 1965 in Woodruff, WI. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, trapping, traveling when he could, and generally the outdoors. He was fortunate enough to partake in many hunting and fishing trips to Canada and Alaska. Ralph is survived by his wife Barbara of Rhinelander, his daughter Laurie(Nestor)Figueroa of Arbor Vitae, WI, his son William(Jennifer)Rudis of Rhinelander and his granddaughter Sophia Figueroa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Rebecca and his three brothers Mike, Ed and Gilbert Rudis. Funeral services for Ralph will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Carlson Funeral Home with Deacon Ronald Bosi officiating. Visitation for Ralph will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 9:00 AM, until just prior to the services, at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Union Grove Cemetery.
