Donna J. Running, age 68 of Rhinelander, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. She was born on June 11, 1940, in Rhinelander to Alfred and Alice Wales. Donna and her husband, Dennis, were owners of D&D's Restaurant and Lounge and serving her customers was truly one of her passions in life. She had a special love for everybody she knew and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Donna is survived by her husband, Dennis Running; four children, Donda (Tom) Pegenau, Doug Brown, Doreen (Cal) Brown, and Darlene Grant; special friend, Nette; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Delores (Jack) Krumweide; and two brothers, Jack (Pat) Wales and Ronald (Arlene) Wales. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Carrie Grant; five sisters, Beatrice (Ray) Richards, Leone (John) Malone, Violet (Harry) Kasmerick, Charlotte (Clayton) Slack, and Jean (Bill) Morris; and three brothers, Bud, Harold, and Willard Wales. A memorial service for Donna will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. A gathering will follow services.
