Eugene J. Lelo, age 73 of Rhinelander, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan to Alexander and Phyllis (Bienek) Lelo. Eugene served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He married the former Ann Dotson on July 11, 1959, in Flat Rock, MI. Together, they resided for many years in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where they raised their family. They moved to Rhinelander in 1998. Eugene's priority in his life was spending time with his wife and together they enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, hunting, scuba diving, visiting casinos, RC Flyers, and especially being with family and friends. Eugene is survived by his wife, Ann of Rhinelander; two daughters, Phyllis (Tom) French of Rhinelander and Paula (Russ) Seamans of Rhinelander; five grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, Sydney, Tyler, and Spencer; a great grandson, Aiden; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine; a brother, Norman; and two nephews, Michael and Stephen. A time of remembrance will take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com). Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
