Daniel Albert Paddock Jr., age 57 of Rhinelander, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born on March 31, 1951, in Rhinelander to Daniel and Genevieve (Recore) Paddock. Dan graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Rhinelander where he was a taxidermist and then began his career with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Dan enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid rock collector. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and counted the days until the start of each new season. Dan is survived by his mother, Genevieve Paddock of Rhinelander; his son, Jeff (Jill) Paddock of Chicago, IL; his three sisters, Jackie Scott of Rhinelander, Dianne (Tom) Fuss of Calumet City, IL, and Jeannie (Dale) Smith of Rhinelander; his former wife, Susan Miller of Rhinelander; his loyal pet companion, Gunny; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel and a brother-in-law, Dewaine Scott. Memorial services for Dan will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Father Dean Buttrick officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. |
