Jerome "Jerry" "Ozzie" Otterholt, age 67 of Rhinelander, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1942, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Henry and Nellie (Lee) Otterholt. Jerry graduated from Chetek High School in 1960 and was employed as a baker at Holsum Bakery in Rice Lake. He married the former Marilyn Smith in 1965 in Rice Lake. Together, they moved to Tomahawk in 1973 where they owned and operated Otterholt's Bakery for 13 years. They then moved to Rhinelander where Jerry continued his career as a baker at a number of local bakeries until retiring two years ago. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping; including many Canadian fishing trips with family and friends. He was a member of several successful pool, horseshoe, and cribbage teams in the Tomahawk and Rhinelander areas since his move in 1973. Jerry dearly loved and looked forward to his yearly vacations with his four grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marilyn Otterholt of Rhinelander; his two children, Jerry (Jeane) Otterholt of Tomahawk and Stacy (Dan) Parenteau of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Blair, Jenna, Nolan, and Logan; a sister, Gladys (Gene) Vosika of Mora, MN; and his father- and mother-in-law, Fred and Irene Smith of Rice Lake. He is further survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Elaine, Doris, and Zona; and a brother, Leslie. Memorial services for Jerry will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) in Rhinelander with John Vanney leading the service. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
