Paul Albert Olson, age 57, of Bundy, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. He was born on October 6, 1951, in Rhinelander to Harold and Gudrun (Loka) Olson. Paul attended Rhinelander High School where he was very active in sports; participating in football, wrestling, and baseball. He graduated in 1969. He was employed at Rhinelander Paper Company for 35 years until retiring in 2004. Paul was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bundy and had been a member of fast pitch softball and pool leagues. He enjoyed deer and bird hunting and golfing and also enjoyed cribbage, other card games, and shake of the day at the Town and Country in Bundy. Paul is survived by his daughter, Gretchen (Jeremy) Walker of Bundy; his son, Thomas Olson of Rhinelander; a granddaughter, Zoey Walker; his former wife, Cynthia Harvey of Rhinelander; a sister, Joy (Jeff) Schisel of Bundy; four brothers, Wayne (Karen) Olson of LaRonge, Saskatchewan, and Ronald (Margaret) Olson, Mitchell (Dawn) Olson, and Bruce (Cindy) Olson all of Rhinelander; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Paul will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Rev. Allen Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Northland Memorial Park.
