Duane J. Dumpprope, age 59, of Rhinelander, died on March 22, 2009 at the St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1949 in Rhinelander to Arthur and Mary(Westbrook)Dumpprope. Duane was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander who graduated from the Rhinelander High School in 1967. He served in the US Army in 1970 and 71. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander where he was employed by the US Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. He married Jane Barg on March 24, 1973 in Rhinelander. Duane loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, pool and dart leagues, football and NASCAR, and anything he could debate with his friends. He is survived by his wife Jane, his son Scott of Rhinelander, his two grandchildren Dustin Ramker and Alexis Dumpprope, his mother Mary of Rhinelander, seven sisters; Lois Pence of Chester, VA, Judy(Clayton)Young, Bonnie(Harley)Wilcox, Dawn(John)Staszak and Tammie(Paul)Nowak all of Rhinelander, Linda(Holland)Skinner of Neenah and Pat(Rick)Marquardt of Albuquerque, NM, his brother Douglas(Sue)Dumpprope of Rhinelander, many niece, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, a sister Carol Pietrzyk and his two brothers Terry and Robin. Visitation for Duane will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Carlson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Carlson Funeral Home with the Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for the Dumpprope family.
