Wilhelmein "Billie" Nelson, age 91, of Rhinelander, died on March 21, 2009 at the Taylor Park in Rhinelander. She was born on December 3, 1917 in Berlin, WI to Richard and Vivian(Baker)Nelson. After her schooling Billie married Myrus "Turk" Nelson, in 1940, and together they owned and operated Nelson's IGA in Oconomowoc. In 1965 they moved to Rhinelander where she has lived since. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. In earlier years Billie was an avid archer and bowhunter and she taught archery to many children. She also enjoyed the northwoods and snowmobiling. Billie is survived by her daughter Susan(Leonard)Anderson of St. Clair Shores, MI, her son Robert of Wassilla, AL, two grandsons Erik Anderson and Neil Nelson, and a great grandson Brett. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1999 and two brothers. A memorial service for Billie will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ with Reverend Dale Bishop officiating.
