Robert Johnson, age 80, of Rhinelander, died on October 15, 2007 in Rhinelander. He was born on March 25, 1927 in Rhinelander to Victor and Elvira(Westerholm)Johnson. Bob attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1945. He then served with the US Army during WW II. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander where he was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Company for over 37 years. Bob was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Rhinelander. He enjoyed all kinds of fishing and woodworking. He loved being with his dogs enjoying the outdoors, especially the woods. Bob also enjoyed traveling and he remembered fondly the trip to Finland and Sweden to visit relatives. Bob is survived by his two daughters Sally(Edward)Slayton of Battle Creek, MI and Jacqualine(Felix)Johnson-Torres of Waukesha, WI; his three grandchildren Mark, Michelle and Sara and his five great grandchildren Kody, Nicholas, Krista, Lucas and Angelina. He was preceded in death by his infant son James, a brother Rudolph and his parents. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Carlson Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Ring and Tom Mase officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 and just prior to the services on Thursday, at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.
