Geneva G. Bissonnette, age 89, of Rhinelander, died on May 19, 2006 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born on June 19, 1916 in Rhinelander to Clint and Stella Mae(Fry)Mellon. Geneva attended schools in the Rhinelander area. During her lifetime Geneva lived in Ely, MN, Plainfield, Pewaukee, Waukesha and Adams Friendship, WI before returning to Rhinelander. While in Waukesha she was employed for many years at Waukesha Motor Works. She married Forest Smith in 1932 and he preceded her in death. She then married Raymond Bissonnette on December 17, 1977 in Rhinelander and he preceded her in death on May 8th of this year. Geneva was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and she enjoyed crocheting and traveling. She is survived by her two daughters Neva Lee(Joseph)Rusch of Adams-Friendship, WI and Dorothy(Dale)Dent of Iron River, MI, 10 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren, her 5 step daughters Christine(Gene)Quandt, Billie(Steve)Koenig and Norma(Tom)Quandt all of Rhinelander, Jackie(Bob)Harvey of Ishpeming, MI and JoAnne Wanty of Roseberg, OR, her two step sons Barry(Myra)Bissonnette of Rhinelander and Richard(Faye)Bissonnette of Dover, DE, 23 step grandchildren, 49 step grandchildren and 9 step great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her two husbands she was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Glen Smith, 2 sisters and a brother. Funeral services for Geneva will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at the Carlson Funeral Home with Deacon Ronald Bosi officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until just before the services on Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for Geneva's family.
