Phyllis Mode, age 72, of Rhinelander, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. She was born on July 7, 1933, in Rhinelander, to William and Julia (Wesley) Obey. She married Raymond Mode Sr. on May 7, 1949, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. They resided in Alaska for a time and then returned to Rhinelander where they raised their family. Phyllis loved her family and time spent with her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player. Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Lory (Mike) Schallock and Lynne Mode, both of Rhinelander; four sons, Buzzy (Jill) Mode of Rhode Island, Lonnie (Bobbie) Mode of Rhinelander, Roger (Rebecca) Mode of Menasha, WI, and Larry (Shirley) Mode of Rhinelander; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Micah, Cass, Jessica, Megan, Raymond, Scott, Brittany, Justin, and Tara; a sister, Shirley Sutherland of Tomahawk; and a brother, Gordon Obey of Tomahawk. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Mode Sr. on November 13, 1984; a son, Raymond Mode Jr.; and a brother, Norman Obey. Funeral services for Phyllis will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the Carlson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery. |
