Emil R. Peterson, age 94, died on October 27, 2005 at the Taylor Park Nursing Home in Rhinelander. He was born on September 17, 1911 in Deep River, Indiana to Gus and Alma(Johnson)Peterson. Emil was raised in Valparaiso, Indiana. He married Ruth Marquardt on July 14, 1938 in LaPorte, Indiana. Emil was employed as a foreman for U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana for many years. Emil and Ruth spent many vacations in the Rhinelander area until moving here permanately upon Emil's retirement.
Emil was an avid White Sox Fan and he enjoyed playing and watching all sports. He also enjoyed dancing and fishing.
Emil is survived by his Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on December 30, 2005, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services for Emil will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 1:30 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until just prior to the services on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Newbold Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the arrangements for Emil's family.
