Paul B. Wiedmann, age 52, of Rhinelander, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. He was born on March 13, 1953, in Milwaukee, WI, to Paul and Joyce (Hausmann) Wiedmann. Paul attended schools in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. He then attended Concordia Lutheran College in Milwaukee for two years. He joined the Rhinelander Police Department as a patrol officer in 1974 and served with the department until his retirement as a detective in 1997. Paul represented the department as school liaison officer for many years. He married the former Lisa Baker on October 2, 1982, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. He was a member of the Wisconsin Professional Policemens Association. He loved to fish and enjoyed time spent in the outdoors. Paul was a talented artist and was accomplished musically as well. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Rhinelander; his mother, Joyce Daniels of Hartford, WI; a brother, Rodney (Ellen) Wiedmann of Bryant, WI; and a sister, Wendy (Jeff) Lehn of Lannon, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Wiedmann and a niece, Marie Wiedmann. Memorial services for Paul will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Check officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home. A memorial for Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church has been established in Paul's name.
